ALBERTA INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT CORPORATION SEEKS PUBLIC RELATIONS AGENCY

AIMCo is seeking the services of an external service provider (e.g. communications, public relations firm etc.) who demonstrate excellence in the provision of Agency of Record services to assist AIMCo complete a number of projects (“the Project”).

Background:

AIMCo is a crown corporation established on January 1, 2008 and whose sole shareholder is the Province of Alberta. AIMCo was incorporated for the purpose of providing investment management services to certain Alberta public sector entities. AIMCo is one of Canada’s largest institutional investment managers and is responsible for the management of assets with a value of approximately $100 billion. AIMCo currently has an in-house communications team. AIMCo is looking to formalize a contract with a creative agency to foster the effort in refreshing AIMCo’s brand and to ensure set up to successfully develop an engaging brand personality over the coming years. Historically, AIMCo has worked with separate vendors on key communications projects such as website design, annual report design, and other communications strategies. AIMCo is looking to solidify a relationship with a creative and innovative vendor who will have AIMCo’s best interests on all communications and branding initiatives over the term of the Contract.

Scope of Work:

The Successful Vendor will be required to provide support and expertise on numerous annual and on-going initiatives (projects) potentially including:

• AIMCo brand evaluation and refresh including style guides, templates and key messages (2018);
• Annual Report and Responsible Investment Report development;
• Website redesign (2018/19);
• Brand creation for the AIMCo Foundation (2018/19);
• Social media set up and planning support (2018);
• Strategic and issues management advice and counsel as required (ongoing); and
• Ad hoc design or strategy consultation as required (ongoing).

Working with, and under the direction of, AIMCo’s Communications personnel, the Successful Vendor shall provide the Services and deliverables as described in Appendix B of this RFP. All Services will be provided by the Successful Vendor in a timely manner. AIMCo reserves the right to reasonably change the scope of the Services to be provided to meet the dynamic needs of the Project.
