Corporate PR: American Express Launches Daily Wish PR Campaign

American Express DAily Wish PR campaign

Another brilliant Black Friday marketing strategy this year comes from American Express that announced today its special holiday sales and Wish-A-Day Giveaway sweepstakes. American Express card members will find these special offers at Daily Wish, an online marketplace filled with limited-time sales and the season’s most coveted items from the hottest brands at deep discounts.

In addition, this year’s first-ever Wish-A-Day Giveaway sweepstakes leverages social media channels to give entrants the chance to win valuable prizes.

Discounts begin Black Friday 2010 through Thursday, Dec. 16, when Daily Wish will feature sales with deep discounts on desirable gifts, such as flat-screen 3D televisions, laptops and tablet PCs, and even a brand-new BMW. The Wish-A-Day Giveaway sweepstakes features no less than 16 wishes and a grand prize of a $15,000 ultimate getaway. To enter, card members need to answer the daily question posted on the Wish-A-Day microsite.

Social media users get more chances to win by submitting additional entries through social sharing on Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. The winner of the $15,000 ultimate getaway will be chosen randomly at the end of December.

The Daily Wish American Express program is already known to card members, who enjoyed it a great deal in the past as well. “We wanted to continue to evolve the Daily Wish holiday program this year, by offering something new and innovative in addition to our fantastic deals on popular products,” said Penni Berns, Vice President of Americas Merchant Marketing and Insights at American Express. “We’re glad to be able to give back to our loyal cardmembers by providing the chance to win coveted prizes through our exciting Wish-A-Day Giveaway sweepstakes.”

All Daily Wish sales are conducted for a limited time, with a limited quantity available on a first-come, first-served basis. Cardmembers can visit DailyWish.com to sign up for weekly alerts to get the sale times in advance.

The PR agencies who work with American Express include M. Booth, Makovsky PR & Ogilvy PR.

Update: American Express ‘Daily Wish’ PR Campaign was disbanded by the company on 6.30.2015.
