This year, despite the economic situation seemingly never going away, great innovation and coolness still abound for gift giving 2012. With Black Friday coming up next week, we thought we would present some of the most sought after gifts from tech, the home, toys, and luxury items. Here are a few things you might want to search for next Friday.
Furby
Sometimes the name just says it all. Furby is an interactive and fuzzy pal for the kids. And after all, who should be the focus of Christmas anyhow? This evolution of Hasbro’s smart critter comes with an app to help kids understand his Furbish language. The cute little fellow (thing) works with iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone, and costs $59.95
Maybe the best place to get Furby is at Toys”R”Us, or direct from the “Furby’s” mouth (site), so to speak. The video below from TXTechDad shows what Furby is capable of.
Evolve Christmas
For a high tech, way cool, sustainable, and ultra fun Christmas the Evolve Motorcycle is all that. Made in the good old USA, Evolve has created some rock’n all electric motorcycles anybody would be thrilled to zip around town on.
Billed as “A new vehicle for a new generation”, these Evolve cycles are not only efficient, but sleek and fast too. According to the company, their mission was to create a completely new kind of vehicle, one made of ideas to break ground in ground transportation. The Evolve Lithium series (above) offers some idea of the sheer edginess of this new bike. The specs are:
- Motor 40,000w
- Battery 96v – 110ah LiFe PO4
- Range 100 miles
- Charge time 3.5 hours
- Max speed 100 mph
Starting at $5,400, Evolve makes a wide range of scooter type bikes and more racy models too. For a list of dealers where you can get one, here is the link.
Elegant Deals
If we are honest, not many people can fill their Christmas stockings to the brim with luxury gifts and tech gadgets. But this doesn’t mean some people have to feel like miserly penny pinchers. A good for instance are high class items like the boots from Nine West at left. I know my wife and partner would be thrilled, you see nothing is warmer or more comfortable in Winter. Best of all, stores like Macy’s are offering fantastic deals. As you can see Black Friday there reveals these leather boots at what would be dirt cheap over here in Germany, but with a Buy 1, Get the Second Pair at 50% Off deal too.

By Nine West
Nine West is a super brand, and fashion footwear that does not “always” break your pocketbook. As for quality, I can attest, knowing something about their process. Founder in founded in 1978 by Jerome Fisher and Vince Camuto, Nine West is noted for taking runway fashion and making it available to the general public. Their products are very high quality.

Gaming Christmas
Somewhere out there, maybe even reading this, there’s a 14 or 40 year old who would walk on broken glass to have the baddest gaming PC on the planet. While such tags as; fastest, biggest, most powerful are often fleeting terms, many would agree the GENESIS Gaming PC has something anyone would love from Santa.
When it’s “more than just a game” Origins has recreated fire like Tom Hanks in Castaway. Their GENESIS Gaming Desktop was a star at CES, and for the low-low price of $3,399.00 plus you can get specs like:
- Processors: Overclocked Intel Extreme Edition Core i7 3970X 4.5GHz – 5.2GHz LGA 2011 Hex-Core Processor (15MB L3 Cache)
- Power supply: 1.5 Kilowatt EVGA Supernova NEX1500 Classified w/Black and Red Individually Sleeved Cables
- Graphics: Quad ORIGIN CRYOGENIC 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GTX 680
- Memory: 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz (8x8GB)
- Hard drives: SSO Quadruple 480GB VisionTek Racers

Practical, Fun, Christmas
Rounding up with another toy only makes good sense. And for something educational, practical, entertaining, and down right edible, Root Vue Farm is reminiscent of my old ant farm, only a lot cooler. Can you imagine your kid’s face waiting and watching those roots sprout underground, right before their eyes! Okay, not every kid is enamored with nature toys, but this one is worthy of mention here. In fact, I am ordering one now for our 4 year old.
Learning patience, plant biology, conservation, and basic farming, what could be more fun and intriguing? Again made in the USA (imagine that) HSP Nature Toys has a real hit on their hands this season.
