Hill+Knowlton Strategies named John Morgan President and CEO of its Asia region, effective immediately. In his new position, Morgan assumes the role previously held by James Heimowitz, and will report to H+K Global Chairman Jack Martin. Heimowitz will serve as a Senior Advisor, assisting with the leadership transition.
Martin believes Morgan is ideal for the position: “John is a communications veteran with more than a decade of experience managing agencies across Asia Pacific…I am confident he will continue his track record of building award-winning, high-performance offices in Asia as we continue to elevate the sophistication of our counsel and services.”
Morgan has counseled a diverse portfolio of b2b and consumer brand clients in North America and Asia Pacific throughout his career to become a specialist in corporate and government affairs, financial communications, integrated marketing, issues/crisis management and media/crisis/presentation training. Morgan will oversee a region of approximately 500 people working in 14 offices across Asia.
Morgan shares his enthusiasm for the position: “I am looking forward to working closely with the region’s senior leadership team, staff and clients. [Hill+Knowlton Strategies] has a long and rich tradition in Asia…I’m looking forward to leading our firm towards a period of sustained growth in the years to come as well as further sophistication of our services.”
Morgan holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism from West Virginia University, and a BA from Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania. He has also been a guest lecturer at Chinese University and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
