    No matter how hard you try to run away from it, public speaking is a “necessary evil” (as one executive put it to me). It holds the key to unlocking your business, political, or career future *faster* than you otherwise would.

    There’s no wonder why those who do well in front of others — the better communicators — tend to get promoted into leadership positions more readily than those who don’t. Besides, if you’re an effective, interesting speaker, audiences (the public, colleagues, management etc) will perceive you to be more competent.

    Lasting improvement comes through continuous practice. Mistakes are a solid part of the public speaking learning process. The more you speak — and learn from your mistakes — the better speaker you WILL become.
