MWW PR Adds UK and Brussels Expertness with Addition of Simon Gentry

Michael KempnerMWW PR, one of the world’s most influential PR agencies, has added veteran Simon Gentry to their UK office. Gentry is to head up the public affairs practice overseas, according to the news.

With a background in the financial services, health care, technology, energy and nutrition, Gentry seems perfect to spearhead MWW’s public sector efforts in London and Brussels. On top of his skill set, Gentry also brings an extensive network including two new clients for MWW. His previous work for clients include efforts for; VISA, Microsoft, Danone, the Rugby Football Union and British Cycling.

The MWW Public Relations offices in the UK officially opened for business back in November of 2013, as part of CEO Michael Kempner’s (top left) aggressive worldwide expansion plans for his company. Earlier this month President Obama named Kempner as a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors. Kempner is also one of the most digitally connected PR CEOs in the world. We interviewed the MWW boss back in 2011, at which time many competing firms were just getting their feet wet in social-digital.

Mitzi EmrichAlso this month MWW also announced tagging social marketing guru Mitzi Emrich (at left) to oversee social and digital strategy across the MWW agency landscape. An adjunct professor at Georgetown University, Emrich teaches graduate courses in social media communications. Also this month, MWW made another critical hire. Jon Romano as a VP, the former head of communications for the Campaign to Fix the Debt will boost the DC office’s expertise.
