Berman Group and Kid Care

An interesting job opportunity came up recently from the real estate specializing PR firm, Berman Group. They need a PR account coordinator … at least in the mornings. Afternoons may require a phone booth to change over to the other hat the worker will wear … nanny for the CEO’s kids. Applicants need 1-3 years in PR so they can “manage accounts and support PR strategy and execution for clients.” The childcare portion is as a backup and support job, but still part of the job.

No one seems to understand why a qualified PR person would want to apply for the job or the benefit that could be found for a resume or moving to the next job. Most, seem to feel it could be more like a chain around the neck. All the usual PR account coordinator or specialist tasks and responsibilities as well as accountability; but if childcare gets in the way of those tasks, it’s doubtful that it will be accepted as an excuse. We offer a “good luck” to the person who is hired for the position.
