James Chapman Joins Bell Pottinger

James Chapman is moving to Bell Pottinger on June 26th as a member of their political team. He should fill the spot easily as he used to be both a political editor at the Daily Mail and Brexit secretary David Davis’ chief of staff. Chapman declared that his new employer has very strong business and political teams and he’s excited to be working with them. Bell Pottinger represents clients around the world, and some of their financial ones include St James’s Place, CYBG, and TSB.

Ikea signs APCO as AOR for French Connections and More

APCO will be working with Ikea’s French remit, replacing the previous agent for the furniture company, Publicis. APCO will be working on internal and corporate communications, public affairs, crisis, and building their brand there. But France is not the only place they’ll be working with Ikea. They are also commissioned to be their agent in China, Italy, Brussels, and the US. Caroline Chalindar-Gine in APCO Paris will be in charge of the efforts as senior director and will be assisted by her senior associate director, Floriane Delandre.

Steve King Named Peppercomm’s New Senior Director of Digital Strategy

Steve King will bring a wealth of experience to Peppercomm in his new position. His resume includes DataPlaces, a NY independent digital consultancy serving as chief digital strategist. Time as senior director in the digital practice of Burson-Marsteller’s NY office, He also worked at Centric Digital as VP of digital strategy, and Havas Worldwide’s Digital director of web, mobile, and social efforts.

FleishmanHillard Becomes PR AOR for Carnival Australia

After 23 years with Carnival Australia (CA), MG Media, run by Linda Moffett and husband Bill Gray, shut down their office. That meant CA went looking for a new PR firm. After receiving bids from many firms, they opted for FleishmanHillard (FH) to do public relations for them in Australia and New Zealand. Jenna Orme, FH’s GM in Australia will oversee the work along with Stuart Terry (consumer leader) and Jessica Dunne (account director). CA’s holdings that the three will work with include P&O, Princess Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, and Cunard brands.

The Bell Ringer Awards 49th Annual Gala sponsored by The Publicity Club of New England for excellence in PR campaigns recently honored SHIFT Communications with 10 awards for superior work in PR and Communications. The Publicity Club is New England’s oldest not-for-profit PR trade organization. Bell Ringer awards are given in specialty areas of technology, consumer, healthcare, and professional services. SHIFT received 4 Gold Bells, 4 Silver Bells, and 2 Merit Awards. Clients represented in winning campaigns included McDonald’s, YouVisit, Char-Broil, and Samanage.
