NYPD SERGEANTS BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT TO PRESENT COMMUNITY RELATIONS PLAN AT T.D. JAKES MINISTRIES

Sgt. Ed Mullins, President of the NYPD’s Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) will be announcing his Five-Point plan to improve relations between police and community at the T.D. Jakes Ministries Corporate Offices (3635 Dan Morton Drive), as part of the Reconciled Church’s Healing the Racial Divide in Dallas, Texas, tomorrow, Thursday January 15th.

Bishop T. D. Jakes, one of the most prominent African-American leaders serves as senior pastor of a 30,000-member church located in Dallas. He has been named “America’s Best Preacher” by Time Magazine. PBS Religion and Ethics Newsweekly named Jakes among America’s “Top 10 Religious Leaders.”

Mullins’ Five-Point plan is to help improve community-police relations nationwide, beginning in New York City. Sgt. Mullins will be speaking at the Racial Divide, discussing how his plan will help restore faith, safety and trust between both those who protect the community and those who live in it.   The event is to be held on the birthday of humanitarian and activist Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Others expected to be present include Bishop Harry Jackson, one of the most prominent African-American pastors in the country along with Atlanta mayor and UN Ambassador Andrew Young.
