Sheepy’s Miss America 2011 Is Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady

It’s easy to be a beauty queen when you have fake hair – I should know, my fake fur won me a number of national and international sheep awards, but never one that gave me such a big crown as this year’s Miss America Teresa Scanlan gets to wear. It wouldn’t fit my personality anyway. I much prefer cowboy hats. So while I understand the hard work and dedication involved in taking care of your (fake) fur, I cannot really get it why a beauty pageant has a talent competition no one seems to take into consideration when choosing the winner.

And speaking of cowboy hats and talent, I’m here to crown Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady as Miss America 2011 of my heart. Who wouldn’t? Beautiful, talented, and fun, looking, to me, more real than Miss Nebraska’s pasty wig, Alyse Eady blew my mind.

You have to see what I saw to understand. I know you bipeds think sheep are usually stupid. Well, you know what? Those peeps in the Miss America 2011 judging panel are sheep for not selecting this beauty to represent their county. This lady truly represents the American spirit in my view, as she gracefully smiles, moves, and yes, sings.

I give you a taste of what this lady looked like in the past: you’ll hear her sing, see her dance, and even hear an interview after she won the Miss Arkansas pageant last year. But first, see the wig that stole the Miss America 2011 show. I don’t want to be that mean to Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan, but damn, girl, what was wrong with your natural hair? Besides, in spite of the fair hair, the lady doesn’t sound that bright, as she ends the video below, a mere infomercial for fake hair.

And now, the cowboy sweetheart, Miss Arkansas, Alyse Eady, ladies and gents. If she doesn’t blow your mind, I don’t know what will. Give that girl a crown, she really deserves it!

Russia the Ally, All Old Soldiers Salute You Today

Today is just another day for most people in the world. But 68 years ago events spiraled ever chaotically and frenzied, into a future our forefather’s could not imagine. As an American, and as a citizen of the world, Russia’s celebration of victory in World War Two today should, I am sure, be all of ours – the people of the world. The so-called Great Patriotic War the Soviet Union and Russia won, was a victory for all of us.

Those of you crying foul are nothing but morons. Were you in the interview room when all 53 contestants went before JUDGES? NO, you were not. Interview scores as high as talent. Apparently, Alyse didn’t quite measure up to Miss Nebraska. Get over it!

  2. sophiezach2011 says:

The Miss America Pageant is not based only upon talent. If that the case they should have competited on “Amercia Got Talent”. I am certainly not saying that Miss Nebraska doesn’t have talent. I’m just saying that Miss Arkanasa was over all the best canadiate to represent us ( United States) as Miss America. Got It ?

  3. Charliebrown1986 says:

I think that although miss arkansas had a great (unique) talent, and although miss *America* had fake hair… it is a shame that Miss arkansas had to revert to her old talent from teen… after 3+ years, you’d think she’d have stepped it up…. But maybe not. The perk about the nebraskan was that she could actually perform on the piano. No one should be able to deny that she had one of the best (if not the best) sounding talents in the finals…. Maybe its my bias against that god-forsaken sounding yodelling, but I thought the piano (and the only piano player at that) was great.

  4. Sherry says:

Wow! The backlash of the judges’ decision to not award Miss Arkansas, Alyse Eady, winner of Miss America 2011 is unbelievable. At first, I too, was perplexed when the winner was announced. It was a no-brainer that Miss Eady would take the crown. Several days later I see that Miss Eady is definitely the winner in another way. Alyse is more sought after than the newly crowned Miss America. The Miss America Organization is promoting the winner and setting her schedule. Miss Eady is getting requests and offers from all over the nation for appearances and interviews. Google each girls’ name and what do you get? An outcry that Miss Arkansas was robbed! Hilarious. I don’t take anything away from the winner (what was her name and state???)either, as she must be exceptional in many ways. I dare say her year will pale in comparison to Miss Arkansas though. Can’t wait to watch Miss Eady on Letterman, Inside Edition, and numerous other interviews already posted on the web. I guess America can get it right, even when the judges miss.

  5. I know, Sheepy is pure genius, isn’t she? Except when she gets too much sheep food…

  6. Leelee says:

I thought Miss Arkansas’ answer to such a politically charged question (should Americans be forced to pay for insurance?) was pure diplomatic genius. She was indeed robbed of the crown!

  7. Robert says:

Miss Arkansas was absolutely, without a doubt robbed of the Miss America Crown. I will never watch that pageant again. @Elly, scores generated earlier in the week should only be used to determine who the top contestants/semi-finalists will be. The night of the competition, the slate should be wiped clean and whoever performs best that evening should be deemed the winner. And by all accounts, Miss Arkansas won. The question asked of her was bootleg (sorry) and did not allow for anything but a yes or no answer as Mario pointed out above. Miss Nebraska left absolutely no impression on me….I don’t remember how she looked in her swimsuit. I don’t remember her talent. I don’t remember her gown. I don’t remember her question nor answer. I am not a native of Arkansas so I was not biased. Miss Arkansas made an impression on me and aparently many, many others. So the judges did not get it right this time and none of them should be invited back to judge future competitions…..I’ll have to ask someone next year who the judges were because I won’t be watching!!!!!

  8. Mario says:

@ Elly- You’re right. She didn’t answer her question on stage but what was she supposed do to…say yes or no? I mean seriously, they asked her a yes or no question!!

  9. I feel betrayed… I was fine with Miss Delaware wearing a wig..she has no hair. But for the winner to have been hiding her real hair is wrong. I think she should be disqualified.

  10. The winner for Miss America is decided based on a composite scoring from the entire week of competition. Yes Alyse is a beautiful young woman and did a wonderful job last night, but if you were to watch the competition from all three preliminary days and combine those scores with personal interviews and what was seen on television last night you would have a better appreciation of the process. In all fairness, Alyse did a wonderful job last night, but her preliminary competition talent was of a less consistent quality and her answer to the preliminary competition on stage question about her platform was not very articulate. Acutally she did not answer the question asked of her on stage last night either, she simply stated her opinion on providing health care to Americans. Is Alyse beautiful, yes. Did she do a nice job last night in the competition, yes. I believe Miss Nebraska beat Miss Arkansas because of her CONSISTANT performance during the entire competition, not just last night. Please do not short change the exceptional young woman who won the crown, she worked hard and deserved it.

    • @Mary and Elly: I am a sheep. I judge people based on a number of things, as they judge me based on attributes like wool quality, milk production and all. No kidding! But seriously, what was wrong with showing pretty short and curly hair? Is there something wrong with natural beauty? About the teenager’s talents and “fight” for children with eating disorders, please be serious! That’s only a PR twist. A smart one, by all means, but she is WAAAAAY too young and unexperienced for such a job. And no, she was not consistent during the competition, her win is political. Which is fine by me. Really. My Miss America is Alyse.

  11. Oh, and – Happy Anniversary (of Sheepy’s inaugural post).!

  12. Delighted to meet Sheepy, and Rabbi is in complete accord re:
Miss Arkansas. She is spectacular and wondrous.
Mazel tov, Shalom, and all that stuff.

    Yours Truly,
    Rabbi Sheepshanker,

  13. Don’t you think it is kind of premature to judge a woman based on her hair and talent? Yes, Miss America is based on beauty and stage talent, but their is a larger role that she plays within our nation besides those two points. Her platform? In Teresa’s case, helping young women with eating disorders. In Caressa’s case, helping Aids in America. She won for some reason and talking poorly of the young woman will not change the fact that she is our new Miss America. I truly do not understand your point? How does her having a wig and in your opinion (bing a horrible pianist) make her a bad Miss America?

  14. Sophizach2011 says:

I had not watched the Miss Amercia Pageant in years. The only reason I watched it last night was ….because one on my favorite girls from The View “Joy Beher” was on one of the judges. I am so happy I watched.. OMG Miss Arkansas, Alysha Eady should have taken home the Miss America crown. No disrepect to Miss Nebraska… but she was little to no competition to Miss Askanasa. As far as Miss Nebraska choosing to wearing a wig instead of her nature hair..I have no problem with that ! Miss Arkanasa had all the making of representing the United States as Miss Amercia…Beauty, talent, educated, and most of all down to earth. This is not the last time we will hear of Miss Alysha Eady. Because she has more than just beauty to bring to the table.

  15. We absolutely should start a Miss Arkansas club! I could watch that act over and over again, in fact I have been.

  16. Melinda says:

She is a delight, a natural, very articulate and most esp. goofy with her talent. Why didn’t she win?

  17. Froggy says:

The Miss America 2011 crown belongs to Arkansas, folks! Sorry for the teenager queen, but she really doesn’t bring it!

  18. I’m with you, Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady was absolutely robbed! That was the most impressive talent I’ve ever seen on a pageant, and by far the most entertaining to watch. No disrespect to Miss Nebraska, but I know 10 year olds who can play the same song on piano that she did. Not to mention that Alyse seemed like the much more likable of the 2 girls, and in my opinion was much prettier. I was very disappointed with the result.

    • And not to mention Alyse had real hair. Sorry I cannot help this, but since when are they allowed wigs in a beauty pageant? This sheep is still puzzled. ;)

One, we should really form a Miss Arkansas club! Yeah, she did have her moment of fame, and she’ll go much more further than the current winner – because real talent always does. And I hope her rep gives her these links today, so that she can see that even sheep know true beauty when they see it.
