The prospect of a reunion between the cast of the Fresh Price of Bel-Air is unlikely to happen any time soon – at least, not unless Will Smith apologizes for being an “asshole”.

Janet Hubert, who played the original Aunt Vivian in the hit 1990’s sitcom, told TMZ that she hates Will Smith and that the Hollywood star acts like a child – and so she’ll never agree to a reunion. The actress revealed that she failed to show up for a recent reunion dinner for the cast of the Fresh Prince because she still holds Smith responsible for her being ousted from the show.

“There will never be a reunion,” she told TMZ. “I will never do anything with an asshole like Will Smith.”

She went on to blast him as an “egomaniac who has never grown up”. She added that she wouldn’t even consider a reunion unless Smith apologizes to her, but said that’s unlikely to happen as he “doesn’t know the word”.

Hubert, who is 55, has long held a grudge against Smith, who she blames for getting her fired from the show during its sixth series. She even attempted to sue Smith and the show’s producers, NBC, claiming that the star had made a hostile work environment for her once she fell pregnant.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was the springboard that catapulted Will Smith into Hollywood stardom, and saw the actor playing lead roles in hit movies like Bad Boys, Independence Day, I Am Legend and Men in Black.

43-year old Smith has shot back at Hubert’s claims in the past, claiming that it was the actresses’ own ego that led to her downfall in an interview with an Atlanta radio station shortly after her sacking:

“I can say straight up that Janet Hubert wanted the show to be ‘The Aunt Viv of Bel-Air Show. She has basically gone from a quarter of a million dollars a year to nothing. She’s mad now, but she’s been mad all along. She said once, ‘I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the Anti-Christ,”

Neither Smith nor his publicist at 42 West could be contacted for a reaction to Hubert’s latest outburst.
