The Women’s Board of The Boys’ Club of New York Is Seeking A PR Agency

The Women’s Board of The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY), the nation’s oldest continuously operating boys’ club, is hosting the 2014 Winter Luncheon, featuring Facebook COO and Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead author Sheryl Sandberg interviewed by legendary journalist and ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer. They are seeking a PR Agency. The event, being held at 583 Park Avenue, will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. The Luncheon will include a seated lunch for over 400 guests, followed by the one-hour interview.

Additionally, in a separate event in collaboration with Barneys New York, several BCNY members, boys ages 8 – 12, will visit Barneys New York to view the art work they created with Simon Doonan, Barneys’ Creative Ambassador-at-Large. Their art, inspired by Barneys’ holiday decor theme BazDazzled, will be exhibited and sold at the store through the holidays.

BCNY is seeking a qualified public relations partner to manage and secure publicity/press coverage for both events. Publicity should incorporate the following activities: Pursue pre-press coverage in calendar listings. Arrange local media and blogger coverage to promote the Luncheon and the Barneys visit. Including, but not limited to: television, radio, newspapers, magazines, online media and new media outlets

  • Create and distribute press releases, media alerts and pitch letters to local, regional, and national media
    Facilitate any interviews between BCNY spokespersons and the media
    Monitor media and social media coverage of the events as well as create and maintain press-invite lists for the event itself
    Manage and support onsite event press · Develop key “shot list” including Board, Co-Chairs, etc.
    Staff key personnel to work with photographers to assure securing shot list
    Identify and service event photos to appropriate publications in effort to maximize coverage
    Compile press results in a final report, post-event · Be available for occasional update meetings

The BCNY Women’s Board Winter Luncheon
BCNY’s Women’s Board, which includes many of New York City’s most prominent women, hosts an annual luncheon to provide useful information and perspectives on education issues, problems, and solutions and to illuminate BCNY’s mission to serve and empower under-served boys and young men through educational, recreational, and social opportunities.
