Shady Sex Scandal And MWW PR Is In The Center.. Yet Again
MWWPR Lobbyist Exploited Relationship With Politician For Personal Gain
If there is a Democrat in a sex scandal, expect MWW PR (a US and UK based advertising agency) to be there and on the shady and sleazy side.
According to today’s New York Post, the firm that famously hired Anthony Weiner for the company’s Board of Advisors – then changed their mind in a move which was ridiculed by the media is at it once again. Their lobbyist, Patricia Lynch was sleeping with indicted ex-Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.
As The NY Post reported: “….once-powerful lobbyist Patricia Lynch, was caught on tape by the feds huffing to the then-Assembly speaker that since one of his aides was rude to her, she’d only deal directly with him.”
She is described as one who “…as revealed in startling new federal court documents, parlayed alleged extramarital relationships with Silver into plumb jobs and top clients.”
Lynch served for six years as Silver’s communications director before starting her own two-person PR firm in 2001 that quickly grew into one of the largest lobbyists in the state — thanks to her Silver connections.
Her extraordinary access to Silver — then one of the three most powerful politicians in the state — won her an enviable client list that included Madison Square Garden. Silver killed the West Side Stadium that MSG opposed during the Bloomberg administration.
Manhattan Federal Judge Valerie Caproni said of Silver’s alleged mistresses in a 17-page opinion that was released Friday, “They arguably are not entirely ‘innocent’ third parties.” “Each allegedly had an extramarital affair with a public official and then exploited her relationship with the public official for personal gain.”
The affairs were poorly-kept secrets, Albany insiders said. Lynch and Silver were seen kissing in an elevator at the 2000 Democratic Convention in LA.
As we have reported previously, MWW PR and sex scandals go hand in hand, as:
“this is not the first-time MWW PR Group has hired someone involved in a high-profile scandal. In 2002, the firm hired the gay lover of New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey, Golan Cipel. As The New York Times noted then, “..Mr. McGreevey helped him get a $120,000-a-year job with the MWW Group, a prominent public relations firm.”
MWW PR has worked extensively on sex scandals – As PR Week and The Washington Post reported, The MWW Group represented “Brig. Gen. Jeffrey A. Sinclair, an Army Ranger and paratrooper who was accused of forcible sodomy, adultery and other charges…”, after “Prosecutors say he abused his command authority by sleeping with a subordinate officer, a taboo in the armed forces and a violation of military law.”
Sinclair pleaded guilty to having a three-year romantic affair with a subordinate officer. MWW Group created a Web site — sinclairinnocence.com — (which is no longer up) to dissect the case.
We share the opinion of ODwyer PR who wrote this week that
“MWW’s Mike Kempner, long a supporter of Hillary Clinton and other Democrats, has become a liability to her and the party because of MWW’s hiring of sex-stained Anthony Weiner last year. With so much of the attack on Donald Trump focusing on his alleged bad attitude towards women and his opposition to abortions, the Clinton campaign cannot afford to have a tie to a person or firm linked to sexual misconduct with women.”
MWW PR Group needs to stop finding themselves and their employees in the middle of slimy sex scandals – from a member of a board of advisors who is a national joke to their current lobbyist who according to a judge “exploited her relationship with the public official for personal gain” it is time that this company finds some ethics and decency.
