Purpose:
The City of Casa Grande is seeking RFP from qualified firms for the design, advertising sales, production, printing and distribution of the 2018-19 city magazine. The purpose of this project is to create literature that promotes the community, projects, and achievements of the City of Casa Grande. In the previous edition of the magazine, aspects of the community such as education, health care, local businesses, housing and historic downtown were highlighted in the piece. Similar components of the city will be highlighted for this year’s edition.
Background:
In 2017, the City of Casa Grande produced a magazine called ‘A Growing Horizon’ that highlighted important information about the City of Casa Grande for prospective business owners, residents, visitors and people who want to learn about the City and its community. This included important topics such as local businesses, education, quality of life, housing, healthcare and transportation. This magazine has provided the city greater regional visibility as well as an opportunity to give residents an inside look at major projects the city is working on.
Scope of Work:
The successful firm will be responsible for the actual design, production, printing and distribution of the publication. The City of Casa Grande will be responsible for working with the successful firm to provide approved copy which the successful firm will format and include the agreed upon sections of the publication. The successful firm will assist in developing additional copy, infographics any other material as necessary.
The City of Casa Grande will permit the use of its trade name, all logo designs, promotional materials and other related matter for the purpose of allowing the successful firm to develop the publication.
The proposal should include the following conditions:
- The successful firm will produce ‘A Growing Horizon’ magazine with the City of Casa Grande having no less than 70% of available space to do promotions, while the successful firm will have no less than 30% of the available space for advertising of economic development. The production of the publication will come at no cost to the City of Casa Grande and the successful firm’s profits for this project will be obtained solely through ad sales.
- Designs for the cover and publication will be the responsibility of the successful firm with the City of Casa Grande’s consent and approval. All new materials, including graphics, illustrations, photography and typography will be the responsibility of the successful firm and at the successful firm’s expense. Any and all materials obtained from the City of Casa Grande by the successful firm will remain the property of the City of Casa Grande and will be returned upon request. Any materials developed or paid for by the successful firm will remain property of the successful firm.
- Designs and concepts for the following subjects that will be included in the publication: Education, Maps of the area surrounding Casa Grande, Hiking, Quality of Life, Healthcare, Local Industry and Transportation.
