The City of Marble Falls (City) is located in the Highland Lakes region of the Texas Hill Country, approximately 50 miles northwest of Austin and 75 miles north of San Antonio. There are 6,500 people who live in the city limits; the population within a ten-mile radius is approximately 30,000. Marble Falls is the economic hub of the Highland Lakes, which is known for abundant fishing, boating, golf, and other recreational activities. The City is well positioned to serve as a launch point for tourist destinations throughout the Central Texas Region. The natural beauty of the area including the many lakes and rivers, parks, the rich art scene, wineries, breweries, and special events make the area ideal for visitors and tourism.
In 2009, the City launched the first professional marketing and tourism strategy campaign to establish a positive and cohesive identity with great success. In 2012, the city hired its first Director of Marketing and Tourism who manages the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). The City continues to experience a steady increase of visitors and overnight stays year after year.
The City is currently receiving Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from professional marketing firms to provide tourism promotion and marketing services and wishes to contract with an experienced and qualified consultant or organization to create and implement multi-media tourism marketing services that will result in increased tourism business, overnight stays at local lodging venues and overall positive economic impact. Proposed marketing campaigns should integrate with the current branding standards.
