The City of Simpsonville is soliciting responses to a Request for Qualifications from qualified professional firms with branding and marketing experience for a Rebranding Project. The purpose of the Rebranding Project is to capture the character of the City and use it to develop a new and clear look and vision for the City. The project will include visual elements, messaging, and brand expression. One objective of the Project is to create an eye-catching and modern design logo that has a wide appeal. Important stakeholders will weigh in on the design so that it best reflects the community. The chosen consultant will provide a style guide for graphics and templates for the necessities of day-to-day operations (e.g. letterheads, webpages, report covers, and city apparel).
Background:
The City of Simpsonville is a growing municipality in the prime location of Upstate, South Carolina. With a population of more than 22,000 and acreage of about 8.5 square miles, Simpsonville has a thriving business community, new housing and residential developments, burgeoning downtown, parks, and the outdoor entertainment venue CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park. Simpsonville is ready for a rebranding project that encapsulates the spirit of and gives a clear vision for the City.
Scope of Work:
Brand & Message Development: The selected firm will create visual elements, messaging, and brand expression that channels voices from the community to capture the uniqueness of the City of Simpsonville. The selected firm will create a design logo that effectively communicates the identity of the City and messaging that connects with community members in a memorable way. The design logo and messaging should allow for flexibility so that they may be used by all departments and for all programs and services.
Deliverables:
i. Visual elements guide and graphic standards, including logo and fonts
ii. Templates for common needs, such as signage, brochures, webpage layout, PowerPoint, report covers, letterhead, business cards, etc.
Strategic brand implementation and community engagement: This task will define the activities designed to effectively establish Simpsonville’s new brand identity, as well as strategies for communicating, maintaining, and enhancing the brand’s value over the first three years following introduction. The strategies should:
i. Prioritize both short and long-term strategies and tactics, including a timeline.
ii. Employ a variety of communication tools.
iii. Engage residents, downtown businesses, the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce, and local community leaders
iv. Enable target audiences to connect and interact with Simpsonville and use feedback to further build Simpsonville’s brand.
v. Provide opportunities for target audiences to become advocates.
vi. Effectively tell the “Simpsonville story.”
