According to the news, Paluska replaces Pete Pedersen, who is now with Grayling. Alan VanderMolen had this to offer about Paluska’s being named to the position:
“Joe is the perfect fit for the role, and I’m confident that he will extend our market position in the technology sector and beyond given his track record at Hill & Knowlton, and his recent experience building a global start up. Our clients will no doubt benefit from his experience on both the corporate and agency side.”
Having stepped down recently as vice president of global communications at startup Better Place, Paluska’s role there in that company’s overall communicative strategy transfers nicely into the Edelman mix of technology practice. Paluska, had this to offer concerning his new job:
“It’s clear to me that Edelman has a long-term view of the industry through the people it hires and the quality of service that it provides to its clients. I’m thrilled to be joining a winning team led by Richard, Alan, and the entire executive group and working with some of the most innovative technology companies in the world.”
As suggested, Paluska was responsible for ramping up Hill & Knowlton’s global technology practice. Not only was he instrumental in advising clients there, but also in pioneering research in understanding the influence technology has on movements such as buying decisions and investment strategies. The video below is from Edelman and Paluska basically saying hello, and explaining his range of expertise.
