Moxie Communications Group is a full-service agency with offices in New York and Los Angeles. Founded in New York in 2011 by PR and marketing pro Taryn Langer, Moxie’s team of experts specializes in PR.
They accomplish this through the insightful melding of brand strategy, influencers who engage, productive content and distribution, and effective media relations. Langer’s deep experience began in New York in 2000 with the noted talent agency William Morris Agency. From there, she worked for five other agencies, including two years in London working with clients like the Discovery Channel, Disney/Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Hallmark Channel, Animal Planet and two Flextech cable channels, Challenge and Trouble.
She returned to New York in 2007 to become managing director for marketing consulting company Group SJR. There, she worked with several clients considered leaders in the tech revolution, including TED.
Langer’s Los Angeles partner, Corinna Pieloch, joined Moxie’s LA office in 2012. She became a partner in the firm in 2017 and leads operations on the west coast. Pieloch had previously been working in media and public relations in southern California since 2007.
A key ingredient to their success lies in Moxie’s ability to put together and launch campaigns that motivate consumers to develop an enduring rapport with the brands they represent. The firm credits its success to its ability to do intensive research into the brand’s target audiences before coming up with a strategy.
Langer said she loved working with companies that are just getting off the ground. She revealed that she spends a lot of personal time talking with CFOs and CMOs as part of her mission to discover unique talking points Moxie might promote with the media. Langer also confessed to an affinity in working with mature tech companies stuck in communicating the same way for years and coming up with fresh ideas to improve their messaging.
One example of recent success happened in March with Moxie working with Justin Turner, LA Dodger All-Star third baseman. Turner and his wife had started a foundation bearing his name four years prior, to support homeless vets and their families who were battling life-changing diseases. The result was extensive publicity for the effort, which called for the delivery of 25 pizzas every hour over a two-day period to the LA Dream House, which houses and feeds the needy, including more than 26 vets.
A few of Moxie’s other clients include Dollar Shave Club, Forerunner Ventures, AppLovin, Casper, Evernote, DogVacay, MeUndies, and Science Inc.
