MWWPR today announced acquiring London-based Parys Communications, one of the best PR companies in the country, representing prestigious clients like News UK and BBC Worldwide. With the acquisition, MWW penetrates the local London market, a major milestone in the 27 year history of the firm, according to Michael W. Kempner, president and CEO of the agency.
“In Parys, we’ve found an agency with a culture and values similar to our own and that shares our relentless focus on mattering more to our clients, employees and the communities where we do business,” he said, talking about what determined MWW to acquire this particular UK company. He added; “we’re gaining an exceptionally talented team and a roster of marquee international clients that we’re tremendously proud to represent under the MWW banner.”
But with the acquisition, the Parys brand ceases to exist, as it will change its name to MWW, effective immediately. Although the official press release announcing the deal mentions growth opportunities for Parys, there are no real opportunities to speak of. The former company integrates completely within the MWW roster. However, for Parys customers, the deal has significant benefits, as Patrick Herridge, former Founder and Managing Director of Parys Communications, now UK Managing Director, MWW, underlined:
“We will immediately be able to offer our existing clients and prospects a wider range of services in the UK as well as support in the US. We will also be helping MWW’s existing clients break into the UK market. Companies looking for a fresh approach to PR in the UK should make sure we are on their pitch lists.”
MWWPR is a firm which is past its peak in the U.S. – perhaps overseas will be a different story.
