Jean-Michel Dumont Receives SABRE Award

Jean-Michel Dumont relocated to Asia 30 years ago, initially as a consultant for pioneering Asian public relations firm Interasia but later as a general manager for Edelman. He later joined Ruder Finn in 2001 as the New York firm began its expansion into Asia. Ruder Finn is now one of the leading multi-international firms in China. Areas of expertise are luxury items, automotive and consumer lifestyle items.

Dumont’s integral role in building Ruder Finn has earned him a SABRE Award for outstanding Individual Achievement from the Holmes Report. Dumont has led messaging, media and crisis trainings for clients such as Audi, Citibank, and Michelin, as well as representatives from the governments of Brazil, China and Colombia.

LEWIS Marketing Services Appoints Amanda Diamondstein-Cieplinska as Vice President

LEWIS Marketing Services, a global communications agency, has recently appointed Amanda Diamondstein-Cieplinska as Vice President of the West Coast Marketing Services. This represents a large expansion of the agency’s Marketing Services division. The company is headquartered in Boston with presence in Europe. The arrival of Diamondstein-Cieplinska, will provide local marketing services to clients in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.

Diamondstein-Cieplinska comes from SS&C Advent, where she was Director of Marketing Communications. She previously had positions at Burson-Marsteller, Portland Communications, WE and Porter Novelli. She has worked for leading global brands including Microsoft and the Dow Chemical Company and has consulted with startups in the Bay Area.

Peter Shafer Joins the Brunswick Group

Brunswick Group, a leading corporate advisory firm, recently announced that Peter Shafer has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. Peter joins as part of Brunswick Insight, the firm’s global market and opinion research and analytics area. He has experience in converting data-driven research into strategic advice, drawing from his previous experience working at KRC Research, Harris Interactive and The Gallup Organization.

Prosek Partners Acquires Muirfield Partners

Prosek Partners has acquired Los Angeles-based Muirfield Partners to expand its geographic reach. Prosek also named the firm’s founder, Mickey Mandelbaum, a partner. Jennifer Prosek, managing partner of the firm, met Mandelbaum a year ago, and the two decided to merge forces because their companies have complementary services. The firms also have similar client bases, made up of primarily financial and business-to-business companies.

Mandelbaum started Muirfield in 2001. Clients include Hercules Capital, Napier Park Global Capital, and On Assignment. Prior to starting his own firm, Mandelbaum was GM of the New York office of Connors Communications, a PR shop focused on technology.
