The Brunswick Group is a private partnership headquartered in London, with their U.S main office in New York City. The New York office managing partner, Antonio Ortolani, was previously employed at both Weber Shandwick and Edelman. They have approximately 900 employees – 250 of them in the United States. There are 115 partners worldwide and 23 wholly owned offices in 14 countries covering the U.S., Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South America. Their work specialties are in the corporate and financial communications, investor relations, coaching, opinion research, and internal communications areas.
The group was founded in 1987, by Alan Parker, a friend of the former U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown and current P.M., David Cameron. It is primarily an international lobbying and PR firm. Though they are considered one of the top PR agencies in the U.K., they remain outside the usual channels. Parker is something of a recluse from a PR perspective, hardly ever granting interviews. He’s reported to have said, ‘It's bad manners to get between the client and the footlights,' The Group does not participate in lists with other PR firms generally (i.e., PR Week’s fee income rankings).
They guard their client list against public scrutiny. Some of their former clients are known, and that group includes Marconi Corporation, Martha Stewart, Marks & Spencer, St. James Place, Shell Oil, Burger King, Safeway, Reuters, and Time Warner.
