The Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) is seeking a digital media agency, versed in social media, website creation and more. Meghalaya – a state in north-east India has a population of over 3 Million people. The MBDA implements Government of Meghalaya’s flagship program – Integrated Basin Development and Livelihoods Program (IBDLP). In order to implement the IBDLP program, MBDA has helped set up certain pioneering institutes such as MIE (Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship), MIG (Meghalaya Institute of Governance) and MINR (Meghalaya Institute of Natural Resources). The Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) along with these institutions work in conjunction with MBDA.
MBDA needs a company versed in and able to build a website and social media programs – and able to effectively engage with a range of stakeholders. The contracted partner would work in collaboration with the Knowledge Management (KM) Unit at the MBDA headquarter in Shillong and be responsible for redesigning the existing website. A key requirement is to redesign and re-conceptualize the existing website as a “Knowledge Portal” that effectively communicates existing knowledge and ongoing updates about the range of activities under MBDA’s statewide flagship program – Integrated Basin Development & Livelihoods Program (IBDLP). A wide variety of innovations and on- ground initiatives in partnership with different government departments as well as local communities are constantly being conceptualized and implemented under MBDA. Thus the “Knowledge Portal” – a user-friendly, easy to navigate, comprehensive repository of rich information about each of these actions and their outcomes – is seen as a critical need.
