The mission of the Nevada Division of Insurance is to protect the rights of Nevada consumers in their experiences with the insurance industry. Protection through education is a key component of the Division’s strategy to protect the rights of Nevadans. For this reason, the Nevada State Purchasing Division on behalf of the Division of Insurance is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to develop and implement an integrated marketing communications plan which educates all Nevadans who purchase insurance on the following topics.
The Nevada Division of Insurance (general branding) and the basic principles of the wide variety of types of insurance products:
- The Affordable Care Act (ACA) – Health Insurance;
- Title Insurance;
- How to file a complaint and for what type of issues;
- Insurance fraud prevention – how to verify a license;
- Auto insurance – including teen drivers;
- Homeowner’s insurance;
- Life Insurance;
- Service contracts; and
- Bail outreach
Scope of Work:
The goal of this project is to develop a statewide multimedia education and outreach campaign for the Division of Insurance that will:
- Educate Nevada’s consumers about the basic principles of insurance and their rights when purchasing or considering purchasing insurance.
- Educate Nevada’s consumers about the Division of Insurance, its role as a consumer protection agency, and the free tools and resources available for consumers shopping for insurance.
- Educate Nevada’s consumers about the Affordable Care Act, Nevada Health Insurance Rate Review Process, and Medicare Supplement.
- Educate home buyers in Nevada about title insurance and the resources available from the Division of Insurance to help them make an informed purchase.
- Educate homeowners in Nevada about homeowner, earthquake, and flood insurance.
- Educate renters in Nevada about renters insurance.
- Educate drivers in Nevada about vehicle insurance.
- Educate consumers about service contracts.
- Educate Nevada’s consumers on the bail industry in the State.
- Educate consumers on product innovations in the State.
- Design and print bi-annual Nevada Insurance Market report.
Objectives:
The objectives of this project are to:
- Increase awareness of a consumer’s right to file a complaint against an insurance company and what type of complaints the Division of Insurance can look into.
- Increase awareness of the Division of Insurance, its role as a consumer protection agency and the resources provided by the Division of Insurance.
- Increase the number of Nevadans and small businesses who check the license of an insurance agent and/or company before buying insurance.
- Increase the number of homeowners who conduct an annual home inventory and annual policy review.
- Increase awareness and understanding of the Affordable Care Act in Nevada among individuals.
- Increase awareness and understanding of the Affordable Care Act in Nevada among small businesses.
- Increase the number of people who visit the Rate Wizard Tool to compare health insurance plans and their rates for individual and small businesses.
- Increase the number of consumers who visit the MedSup Comparison Tool.
- Increase awareness about a home buyer’s right to pick their own title insurance provider and increase understanding of title insurance among Nevada home buyers by utilizing the Title Insurance Guide.
- Increase the number of people who visit the Title Comparison Tool.
- Increase awareness of the life policy locator to increase number of consumers visiting the page.
- Increase the number of Nevada’s consumer’s utilization of the auto insurance guide.
- Increase the number of Nevada consumers using the service contracts look-up tool.
- Increase consumer’s awareness and understanding of Nevada’s bail industry and consumer rights therein.
- Increase awareness of financial literacy in Nevada utilizing the NAIC’s content when it becomes available.
- Increase awareness on new insurance products available in Nevada.
- Design and print bi-annual Nevada Insurance Market report.
