Non Fungible Tokens are digital items that have a particular value depending on their uniqueness. They could be portraits, videos, GIFs, and many other formats. Since NFTs are outstanding data components on a blockchain, they are not synonymous with each other. Below is a review of the most costly NFTs, in descending order of value.
1. Everydays- The First 5000 Days
Christie’s auction house traded a collection of Beeple’s artwork that he created daily since May 2007. When you consider the individual pieces of art, they differ in style and subject matter, but as a combined unit of 5,000 paintings, their value is immensely higher. So far, Everydays’ is the most valuable NFT, as it sold for $69 million.
2. CryptoPunk #3100
Ethereum blockchain keeps 10,000 CryptoPunks with CryptoPunk 3100 as part of their nine alien punks. It has blue-greenish skin. Its headband is blue and white like other 406 punks. It was auctioned on March 11th, 2021, for $7.58 million from the original bid of $76.
3. CryptoPunk #7804
CryptoPunk 7804 is part of the nine alien punks. It has a cap forward, pipe, and small shades.. Its sale took place on the same day as the CryptoPunk 3100, at the slightly lower amount of $7.57 million. The owner’s address is 0xf4b4a5.
4. Crossroads
Crossroads is an excellent NFT. It is also Beeple’s work. Crossroads is quite popular because it reflects on the 2020 US elections, and on whether Trump would win or lose. It sold on February 25th, 2021, a few days before Everdays’ sale. The buyer purchased it for $6.6 million at the Nifty Gateway.
5. The First Twitter Tweet
Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO, and founder wrote his maiden tweet in 2006. It read, “just setting up my twttr.” Jack Dorsey sold his tweet at an online auction called Valuables on March 22nd, 2021, for $2.9 million. Oracle’s CEO Sina Estavi now owns it.
6. CryptoPunk #6965
There are 24 Ape punks, and CryptoPunk 6965 is one of them. It has a greyish fedora like 186 other punks. This reiterates the uniqueness of CryptoPunks. Its price was $1.54 million, and the buyer’s address is 0x99b57c.7. Axie Infinity Virtual Game “Genesis” EstateAxie Infinity is an NFT game built on the Ethereum platform. It involves purchasing and bringing up fantasy creatures. Danny, a virtual estate seller, traded a property found in the game to Flying Falcon. The sale was made on February 28th, 2021, for $1.5 million.
CryptoPunk 4156 is part of the 24 Ape Punks. However, the difference comes with the adornment. Punk 4156, like 481 others, has a blue bandana. Its selling price was $1.25 million to Ethereum address 4156.eth.
9. Forever Rose
Kevin Abosch sold the Forever Rose, as an NFT on an Ethereum blockchain in 2018 on Valentine’s day for $1 million. Among the ten collectors who purchased the artwork were leaders and investors in crypto like TLDR Capital and Future Money, among others.
10. Metarift
Metarift is a surreal video of size 46.5 MB. Its creator is Pak, now christened as “Satoshi of crypto art.” Metarift features a metallic texture cluster of sphere-shaped objects held jointly by an infinity symbol. The object moves against a dark background. Pak sold the Metarift to Danny for $904,413 on March 21st, 2021.
