P World is a specialty events and conference planning group with offices in Prague, Skopje, and Baku. But they have organizations in 30 different countries across Central Asia, Southeast Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East providing locations for conducting their business. Kosta Petrov, the founder and CEO of P World, was recognized two years in a row by Kongres Magazine in its list of the 30 most influential people in the events industry in Southeast Europe.
Petrov has known some struggles in the last several years. During the economic downturn in 2009, he faced major financial hurdles. In its aftermath, he dealt with crippling anxiety attacks until he learned to face his fear of failure and make a new plan: Keep moving forward and not let fear win. It took him a while to figure out how to do this, but it seems to have worked for him, his company, and in many of the emerging market countries where he offers his services.
P World has produced many television shows and documentaries. The agency mainly focuses on interviewing influential world and business personalities about their experiences and how they have found success. P World believes the best work it produces gets information out for others to use and apply in their businesses.
Petrov and P World plan conferences in emerging market countries focusing their efforts on three main areas – global education, fighting world poverty, and AIDS. A man could spend a lifetime to improve any one of these situations, but Petrov is making a difference in all three through his “no fear” framework of life. According to a recent report from World Bank, 80 percent of the world’s population lives on less than $10 per day.
Petrov and his people work closely with regional and international charities to focus on bringing business opportunities and education to people so they can begin to build a better future for themselves. Part of this effort is in working with the charitable organizations to bring education to girls and boys around the world. They are offering short-term and long-term help.
And the last item – AIDS. In 2009, there were over 34 million adults living with AIDS or HIV. The numbers have continued to grow. P World has begun their work by creating AIDS awareness programs and fighting prejudice in the Balkan regions with an aim to expand over time.
