Snoop Dogg Public Relations Campaign

MarketPage is a beta startup that aims to allow anyone to have a shop on their Facebook Page and invite others to sell there. To gain popularity, the company, backed up by Tinypay, Inc, has tapped Snoop Dogg to advertise their product. The company website already features a picture of the celebrity up above the fold.

Hip-hop and rap superstar Snoop Dogg is the first to use MarketPage.

Snoop Dogg announced his partnership with MarketPage while performing at a surprise performance at SXSW. The star is the first to open a “Snooper market” selling all kinds of merchandise. With over 15 million of fans on Facebook, the Snooper market is probably the best PR move for MarketPage. Millions of Facebook users will be exposed to the brand, and have instant access to Snoop’s MarketPage. The star invited other merchants to sell on his page and plans to open it up for everyone in the near future. According to a MarketPage release, Snoop is excited to let his fans “get all their Snoop swag on.”

Snoop is the first artist to use MarketPage, but Tinypay will not stop here. Soon there will be other artists, communities and brands involved:

“People seem to be coming together at Pages that promote a certain artist, brand or community and attract a lot of fans. That’s the place where you want to sell. We’ve made it possible for all the 850 million Facebook users to create a true e-commerce community,” said Melvin Tercan, the CEO of Tinypay.

MarketPage is still in closed beta, but you can already request an invite if you want to try it out.
