Nottingham Boosts PR Efforts to Attract More Business Tourists in the Region

The Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau (an arm of Experience Nottinghamshire, the county’s destination management organisation) retained Nottingham-based BCS Public Relations to help increase levels of business tourism in the county.

Founded in 2002, BCS is one of the fastest-growing PR agencies in East Midlands, and one of the largest. The company is involved in all aspects of PR and marketing, from from business to business, to consumer, to high-tech, and to governmental public relations activities. Recently, the company has been ranked 28 in PR Week’s coveted list of the Top 40 technology consultancies. Now BCS has to prove its value in travel as well, as it attempts to boost Nottingham’s reputation, making the city one of the top three UK cities for conferencing.

The clock is ticking, BCS is facing a tremendous challenge. There were no strategies revealed for this campaign, but Trevor Palmer, BCS PR director, suggested in a release published by The Drum that the campaign will target international audiences:

“This is a major new account for us and will see us promoting Nottinghamshire’s business tourism offering on an international scale. As a Nottingham-based agency, it’s great for us to be able to turn the spotlight on our own county and help to bring about a boost to the regional economy. We’ll be making sure that event organisers around the world know that Nottingham is the perfect host destination for conferences, meetings and exhibitions.”
