Omnicom Group’s Stock Position Raised

During 2016, Omnicom Group Inc.’s (OMC) shares have seen good days and bad days with the various investment management groups and funds. Pzena Investment Management sold 2.6% (121,538 shares) of their stake during the third quarter. Janus Capital Management LLC raised their position by 24.5% during the second quarter and added even more of their shares during the fourth quarter. Likewise, Mackenzie Financial Corp, Panagora Asset Management Inc., FMR LLC, and EverPoint Asset Management LLC all added to their position on OMC during 2016 at least once, many did so during two quarters.

The shares started 2016 at about $65 each and hit a high in December at almost $90 per share; it was a growth year for the stock. 2017 is off to a good start – but some brokerages have now put a “hold” rating on the communications giant.

Carmichael Lynch’s Relate Now Representing National Rugby Football League

The newly formed National Rugby Football League (NRFL) just signed Relate, a Carmichael Lynch subsidiary (Carmichael Lynch is an Interpublic Group agency) as the PR agency of record. Play should begin later in 2017 – eight franchises are currently being formed in the US. Rugby is the second largest team sport in the world and has a huge potential in the US according to Marcus Fischer, President of Carmichael Lynch.

Brunswick Group Adds Leadership to Healthcare/Life Sciences and PR Divisions

The London-based corporate advisory agency, Brunswick Group, just added Raul Damas and Hannah Stott-Bumsted in January as partners. Damas came from Purdue Pharma most recently as a VP of corporate affairs and communications. Previous to Purdue he was at Pfizer and also a White House Associate Director of Public Affairs and for political policy developments as a senior administration official.

Stott-Bumstead will be joining the firm in their DC office beginning February 13. Her previous experience includes being a Counselor to the Deputy Secretary for the US Department of Health and Human Services regarding complex and high-profile policy and political matters on a wide range of concerns. She also worked in the Office of General Counsel in the Department of the Treasury. Before her eight years working in the Obama administration, she worked at Williams & Connolly LLP offering litigation advice to major corporate clients.

Owen Mack Becomes Matter’s National Director of Creative Services

Matter Communications is a brand elevation firm offering PR, creative services, social media, and search marketing. They recently added Owen Mack to their leadership as the director of creative services. He left Cobrandit as their managing director to join Matter. While at Cobrandit, he worked with clients such as Century 21, PUMA, Volkswagen, and PR firms Weber Shandwick and Edelman. In the new position, he’ll oversee creative strategy and direction, content program strategy, distribution, and production.

Prosek Partners Assisted Sterling House with Annual Food Drive

The holidays are always busy, and lots of good is done by individuals and firms across the US. At the end of November, Prosek Partners joined with Sterling House for their Thanksgiving Food Drive. Spearheading the efforts from Prosek were Jake Daubenspeck and Michaela Nichols. The pair gathered donations from their New York and Fairfield office employees and then went shopping.

They were able to deliver seven baskets of food the week before Thanksgiving along with a check for over $1,500 to help Sterling House with additional costs. This is Prosek Partner’s second year working with the charitable organization.
