Melissa Rivers To Accept Award At Event Announcing 100 Top People Positively Impacting Jewish Life
New York’s famed Algemeiner newspaper will pay tribute to Joan Rivers at its 2nd annual ‘Jewish 100’ Gala on Tuesday Feb 3rd at 6:00 PM at Capitale, located at 130 Bowery (Bowery & Grand), New York, NY 10013.
The paper’s illustrious ‘Warrior for Truth’ award will be accepted by Melissa Rivers on her mother’s behalf. Tycoon Donald Trump will be presented with the Algemeiner’s ‘Liberty’ award and Speaker of the Israeli Knesset Yuli Edelstein will also receive the ‘Warrior for Truth’ award.
Other attendees at the event, where the annual ‘Jewish 100’ list of the ‘top 100 people positively influencing Jewish life’ will be unveiled, are expected to include Ambassador Ido Aharoni, Consul General of the State of Israel in New York and Ivanka Trump. The Gala, attended by many community and industry leaders, will celebrate the Algemeiner’s rapid re-emergence as a strong voice for Jews and Israel in the media.
“In a climate of rapid globalization, and in light of recent escalations of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish sentiments and actions around the globe, we see the utmost importance of ensuring that there is a Jewish voice in the media with broad international impact articulating the accurate story,” said Algemeiner Editor Dovid Efune, “we are gathering to recognize the work of our staff and community towards achieving that goal.”
