Changes at PMK*BNC
Jodie Magid Oriol, formerly of Lionsgate, joins PMK*BNC in the New York office as a VP and will be working in their new Entertainment Strategy and Development and Talent departments. At Lionsgate she worked in several position, most recently as VP of their theatrical publicity, working on such productions as the various franchises for Saw, the Expendables, and Hunger Games, as well as movies by Tyler Perry.
Rachel Aberly, already at PMK*BNC has an expanded workload to include more multi-dimensional campaigns. But in the past, she’s worked on many well-known movies as well as awards campaigns. Some of her work, either directly on the movies or the awards side, includes The Revenant, Silver Linings Playbook, The River Wild, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Andrea Jaffe, Prominent Publicist dies at 66
Andrea Jaffe made a name for herself in the 1980s a publicist, but her late father, Leo Jaffe, was also the Chairman of the board at Columbia Pictures (1973-1981), and her brother, Stanley Jaffe, produces films such as Kramer vs. Kramer and Fatal Attraction, as well as being President and COO of Paramount (1991-1994).
During her career, Andrea handled publicity for Tom Cruise at the beginning of his career – starting with Risky Business, and other stars including Dustin Hoffman, Richard Gere, Warren Beatty, Bette Midler, and Farrah Fawcett.
Her death came after a lengthy illness in Wilmington, NC. The family requests that any donations be made in her name to Save the Children Foundation, a charity she worked with extensively.
KCSA Strategic Communications becomes PR and Investor Relations AOR for Propanc
KCSA just signed as PR rep for Propanc Health Group Corporation (PPCH), which is a company in the healthcare sector developing new treatments for cancers with solid tumors such as colorectal, ovaria, and pancreatic cancers. KCSA will start by moving forward with a comprehensive communications campaign getting the word out about PPHC to both media and the investment community.
