For those of you who missed the news last Monday, when the deal was officially announced, Twitter, the microblogging platform, has acquired Posterous, a blogging platform known for its slick and trendy media-sharing interface. The terms (and value) of the deal were not disclosed, but Posterous has published an Acquisition FAQ to answer users’ questions.
From here with learn that the deal will not affect the way users use their Spaces just yet. They will be timely warned before any changes or disruptions to the service and will receive specific instructions for exporting their content to another service. Posting via email, and iPhone or Android apps still works, and instructions on how you to backup the content of the Spaces will soon follow.
Users who bought a new domain from Posterous will be transferred to eNom, which will take over domain management.
Everything fine so far, except that there are already issues with Posterous, whose Sapces are now down. A tweet from the company earlier today notified users that:
Posterous is experiencing some issues at the moment. We are investigating and will have an update soon.

This may, or may not, have anything to do with the Twitter deal. But the company still has reasons to celebrate. One can safely assume that, due to its increased popularity over the past four years, Posterous received a substantial financial offer. Last but not least, the people who build it, will continue to work for you under the Twitter umbrella.
