The UK got a brand spanking new PR firm last month as former journalists formed up the Carlisle based Citadel PR. The past news editor of The Cumberland News, Vic Gibson, and colleague Nick Brownlee team up to create a new digital communications firm.
According to the news, Citadel PR will offer a range of services including; media outreach for digital, print and broadcast outlets, along with writing copy for websites, newsletters and brochures as well as offering media training. Gibson, who has been advising such entities as Carlisle Racecourse, Tesco, and Carlisle United as a PR adviser for some years now.
As for Fleet Street veteran Nick Brownlee, he has continually contributed to national newspapers and Carlisle Living magazine, as well as having written 14 no-fiction books since having returned to Cumbria. He offered this comment via in-cumbria news:
“We are Carlisle’s first and only PR agency to be run by experienced journalists with a proven track record, as opposed to lone operators setting up on their own. Citadel will be a modern media and PR agency with a straight-talking approach. There has already been a lot of interest in what we are doing, simply from Twitter and word of mouth so far.”
