Heather Wilson Appointed EVP of Ogilvy PR Chicago Corporate Group


OgilvyOgilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR) has named Heather Wilson executive vice president and director of the agency’s Chicago Corporate Group, reporting to Managing Director Nathan Friedman. Wilson leverages her expertise in brand positioning, financial communication, litigation support, crisis management, government relations and media strategy to create integrated campaigns that deliver business results.

Wilson  is to focus on the Chicago market to develop strategy and programs for clients, in addition to overseeing management of the corporate group and heading business development initiatives.

Working at Weber Shandwick for the last six years, Wilson was the global lead for the agency’s digital crisis management and brand defense team. During her tenure at Weber Shandwick, Wilson crafted strategic communications programs, developed corporate and executive positioning and counseled executives through high-profile litigation situations.

As a key media trainer, she also has experience across the food & beverage, consumer products, technology and airline sectors. Shandwick has also served as a financial journalist, most recently with Dow Jones MarketWatch.

Friedman shares: “Our corporate practice is a strong multi-dimensional team that works across multiple categories, verticals and geographies. Heather’s background in media and law combined with her social crisis acumen and corporate affairs expertise is a perfect match to lead this growing team.” Wilson shares her enthusiasm for the new position:

Wilson has a master’s in journalism from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and bachelor of arts in political science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
