Jane Barandes has joined Weber Shandwick as general manager and co-Lead of the agency’s New York digital operations. She will work together with Jason Wellcome, executive vice president and general manager of Weber Shandwick Mediaco; and will report to Chris Perry, president of digital and Joy Farber Kolo, deputy general manager of Weber Shandwick New York.
Barandes is a true asset for the company, strengthening the human talent pool at Weber Shandwick Digital New York. Her past experience as 360i’s New York managing director, and vice president of marketing at Publicis Modem prior to that, shows that she has the skills and capabilities to lead the office, all recognized by superior management:
“Jane has an amazing track record developing digital agency competencies, as well as strong client and team leadership talent uniquely suited for today’s dynamic media and marketing environment. Her experience combining digital business strategy with social campaigning and content management expertise will be instrumental in driving client programs as well as our future offerings,” said Chris Perry, president, Digital for Weber Shandwick, in a media statement.
Weber Shandwick Digital already has more than 500 digital, social media and content specialists, and has recently launched Mediaco, to “help every company become a media company.” Mediaco combines editorial planning and production, emerging technology and paid media dollars in support of distribution and discovery of content. New addition of talent shows that Weber Shandwick will continue to focus on content marketing strategies for clients. Aside Jane Barandes, the company also hired Brooke Tarnoff as editorial director; and Hamilton Tamayo as associate creative director.
