The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals to establish a service contract through competitive negotiations for business consulting to specifically include the design and implementation of industry round tables to support the University’s new Innovation Campus in Arlington, Virginia. The goal of these industry round tables will be to establish brand ambassadors; increase corporate engagement and strengthen partnerships while gaining industry insights. The resulting service contract will be issued by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Background:
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) is located in Blacksburg, Virginia, approximately 40 miles southwest of Roanoke, Virginia, the major commercial hub of the area. In addition to the university’s main campus in Blacksburg, major off campus locations include twelve agriculture experiment research stations, the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center and graduate centers in Roanoke and Fairfax, Virginia. Regularly scheduled air service is provided at the Roanoke Regional Airport. Scope of Work:
Topic Definition & Project Plan
a. Utilize existing Innovation Campus collateral (i.e. position paper, proposal, and marketing/communication documents and website), as well as, the Innovation Campus leadership delivery team to create a clear and concise description of the Innovation Campus and purpose for the Industry Round Tables. This includes a narrative to help generate excitement that can then be used to invite session participants.
b. Collaborate with Virginia Tech Industry Round Table project team to define the scope and topics for each of the sessions, including goals, outcomes, and metrics. It is expected there will be approximately 4 – 7 standalone sessions that range in length based on session, but no longer than 1 day.
c. Create a project plan that includes deliverables, roles and responsibilities, timeline/deadlines, and progress tracking mechanism.
