Matt Kucharski Becomes PadillaCRT’s President
Matt Kucharski has been with PadillaCRT since 1989 and has been serving most recently as a member of their Executive Leadership Team overseeing B2B and B2C divisions. But he’s just been promoted to president, focusing on the company’s health practice. He is taking the place of Mark Raper who will become the chief counsel officer, with Lynn Casey continuing as CEO for Padilla.
Big Organizational Changes at Rasky Baerlein
Just announced, both Ann Carter and Joe Baerlein are leaving Rasky Baerlein, the firm they co-founded along with Larry Rasky. The two plan to start their own firms. Baerlein served as president and Carter as a principle. The firm was founded in 1997, but the buyout seems to have been in the works for some time. Rasky will continue with their Boston firm under the name of Rasky Partners, focusing on business, government, law, and media communications.
Joe Baerlein’s new agency, Baerlein and Partners, will be working on “reputation and advocacy issues, advising corporations and private organizations.” Carter’s firm will be named ACcommunication Partners, and she will continue her efforts with boards of trustees and senior-level executives on business communications and challenges.
19 PR Firms Just Signed Contracts with King’s College London
Edelman, Lansons, and Hill+Knowlton are just a few of the 19 firms signing PR and marketing contracts with King’s College London (KCL) recently. The complete deal should pay out approximately £2 million over the next four years and will cover five sectors: (1) arts and culture, (2) health and science, (3) politics, economics, business, and law, (4) corporate and change, and (5) international.
The competitive RFP included interest from more than 100 firms in the beginning. Group 1 will work with Four Colman Getty, 89Up, Lansons, Newgate Communications, and Anna Arthur PR. Group 2 – Admiral, Madano, Four Health Communications, and Claremont. Group 3 – Four Broadgate, Grayline, Long Run Works, and Bluesky PR. Group 4 – Edelman, Hill+Knowlton, Four — Broadgate, Gatehouse Consulting, London Communications, and Ron Finlay. And Group Five – Long Run Works, Bluesky PR, and BLJ London.
Omnicom PR’s Revenue Rises in Q4
Omnicom’s PR group did better than the rest of the company during the fourth quarter of 2016, hitting 7.7% organic revenue growth (ORG), which taken together with the entire year works out to 2.8% ORG. The holding company for Q4 was up 3.6% from the same period in 2015, hitting $4.2 billion. Omnicom owns Fleishman-Hillard, Porter-Novelli and more.
