New U.S. Healthcare Division Chair at Burson-Marsteller

Burson-Marsteller Henry Engleka joins the DC office of Burson-Marsteller as the new chair of the healthcare division. Engleka brings 20+ years of experience in healthcare communication and extensive work in the healthcare field. He worked most recently as a member of the Marketing Steering Committee and senior consultant at John Theurer Cancer Center. Before that, he was EVP of Health and Wellness practice at Porter Novelli in New York. He was also founder and CEO of P4 Strategy Group in , co-founder of Zibbel Inc., and principal and managing director of the office of Widmeyer Communications.

Public Affairs Division of WPP PR Ended Q3 Strong

WPP’s U.K., Africa, Latin America, and Continental Europe regions had a particularly good Q3, though all other regions had positive net sales growth for the quarter. Advertising and Marketing Communications groups did especially well for Q3 and during all three quarters of 2016 so far — with Cohn & Wolfe singled out as a top performer. Donna Imperato, CEO of Cohn & Wolfe, made a statement in an email that C&W hit organic growth globally in double digits for the quarter and that they should end the year with double-digit growth as well, noting this is the third year in a row they’ve done so.

Ketchum Appoints Michael O’Brien as New Chief Client Officer

Ketchum, just replaced their chief client officer working out of the New York office. Jerry Olszewski leaves the post, and Michael O’Brien fills the spot. Olszewski has been both CCO and managing director of the DC office for the last year, so this move allows him to focus more on the DC office as well as his ongoing spot on Ketchum’s Global Leadership Council. O’Brien is promoted from his director position for North American client development. His new tasks will include orchestrating specialists to work with clients and mentoring staff members globally.

PR Leadership Dialog Forum Scheduled for November 10-11 in Moscow

Communications students and experts alike will be attending the Leadership Dialog Forum in Moscow this November. The event is sponsored, organized, and supported in a joint effort by organizations including Orta Communications Group, the Russian Managers Association, the philosophy faculty of Moscow State University, and the Russian State Social University. On November 10th there will be public presentations of projects submitted to the 5th annual corporate and student communications projects — the Eventiada Awards. Featured will be 800-plus projects from Eastern European countries and 123 cities. On November 11th, students and industry experts will participate in two panel discussions titled the Future of Leadership and the Future of Media.
