Fans around the world create and submit cheers as a one-click post, photo or video on Visa’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/visa) and contribute to the collective global cheer by submitting one-click cheers on Visa’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/visabrand). Fans can also cheer through partner websites including NBCOlympics.com, Yahoo! and Sports Illustrated. Those in the United States are given the chance to have their cheers featured in special-edition Visa commercials that celebrate Team Visa’s victories, airing on television and online during the London Olympic Games. Using Visa’s Cheer application (http://cheer.visagoworld.com), fans can learn about and engage their favorite athletes. Cheer features are also accessible through apps for smartphones and tablets.
Antonio Lucio, Global Chief Marketing, Strategy and Corporate Development Officer says: “Historic and memorable moments in Olympic Games history are driven by cheers. Our global campaign puts fans at the center of the experience and aims to unite the world in a global cheer movement to inspire athlete performances and spread the Olympic spirit.”
Visa is the sole payment services sponsor and will remain the only card accepted at Games venues through 2020.
Currently, worldwide PR firms for Visa Worldwide include FleishmanHillard, Edelman, Porter Novelli and Brunswick.
