Billboard just announced “Innovators Showcase,” a new program at upcoming Mobile Entertainment Live!: The Music App Summit, presented by Logic Wireless. Innovators Showcase allows companies to reveal their innovations, technologies, and products or services before some of the world’s most influential experts.
Billboard is celebrating its 116th year by engaging the digital wizards of the world.
Record label executives, mobile operators, gadget manufacturers, VC, as well as ap developers looking to invest in the hottest news developments, this is the forum before which companies gain audience with Billboard’s new program. Applications or innovations do not have to be specifically music oriented according to the release.
Billboard is currently accepting applications from budding or experienced next-gen creators. The deadline for submissions is August 3, and you can submit your reinvention of the wheel here.
The list of advisors who will be doing the selection process is really impressive, and includes; Tim Chang ( Principal, Norwest Venture Partners), Ted Cohen (Managing Partner, TAG Strategic), Alan Goodstadt (Partner, Redwood Capital), David Kusek (VP, Berkleee College of Music), Paul Vidich (Media Consultant and Independent Advisor: ReverbNation, MediaNet, BrightCove, Melodeo), Brian Zisk (co-founder, SFMusicTech, Collecta and Future of Music Coalition), and many more.
So, if you have the next great thing out of the box, Billboard’s Innovators Showcase may be a good shot at prime time for your hard work and ingenuity. A sort of TC 50, or Web 2.0 Summit, but with some new and powerful faces there, many may not have seen. We are tempted to sign up our own little global innovation – maybe even a client or two? This is great stuff.
