Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) is an independent authority created by the Virginia General Assembly and funded by the County of Fairfax and is looking for a Public Relations agency. The FCEDA is charged with encouraging U.S. and foreign-owned businesses to locate to, stay in, and expand in Fairfax County for the purposes of: (1) increasing the county’s non-residential tax revenues, and (2) providing increased quality and varied job opportunities for Fairfax County residents. The firm should ensure that public relations services support the FCEDA mission of promoting an enhanced quality of life through the attraction of high-quality technology and other employers – large or small, minority and woman-owned, established or start-up, and others to Fairfax County. In order to pursue this mandate, it is vital to create, maintain and enhance an image of Fairfax County as a high-quality business location, ideally suited to business investment. The FCEDA requires a mix of advertising and public relations services to support its programs and efforts toward fulfilling the above purposes. The purpose of this RFP is to: * work with the FCEDA vice president for communications and research and the FCEDA’s advertising services contractor to prepare and implement a comprehensive communications plan that includes advertising, public relations and related elements to promote Fairfax County as a business and technology center for companies that want to expand or locate on the U.S. east coast; * work with the FCEDA to promote the benefits of economic development to various audiences, and position the FCEDA as a catalyst for economic growth. Proposals are due by May 31, 2016.
