ICR named as AOR for Differential Brands Group

Differential Brands Group is an apparel company formed earlier this year when Hudson Jeans and Robert Graham merged – following Hudson leaving Joe’s Jeans. Michael Buckley, CEO of Differential said ICR was chosen as their agent of record for a couple of reasons, one being their experience with crossing their work with traditional communications and Wall Street issues – such as PR for IPO creations.

Experience in both those fields will help Differential with increasing brand awareness as well as improving their investor relations work among the financial community.

Hiltzik helping Ryan Lochte with PR Crisis

Big oops on the part of Ryan Lochte when he fibbed to his mom rather than owning up to some serious partying in Rio – telling her instead that he had been mugged along with two of this teammates. Lochte’s mother then went to the press. That’s when the oops turned into a problem, one of international proportions. Turns out the three were partying a little too hard and then got physical with a bathroom door that wouldn’t open as easily as they wanted. The guys paid for the damage, apologized to the store owner and all would have been forgotten but for that false report to Lochte’s mom.

The news hit just as the team was about to fly out of Rio, and the two friends got yanked from the plane by the police. Matthew Hiltzik stepped in to help – it’s not the first time he’s done so with high profile clients either – he’s worked with the Biebs, Ray Rice, and Manti Te’o to name a few.

Lochte finally apologized via social media on Friday, August 19, and after apologizing, saying he waited to issue the apology until he was certain the legalities were out of the way and all would be okay with his teammates.
