French/West/Vaughan acquires CGPR
The outdoor lifestyle PR agency CGPR was recently acquired by one of the country’s biggest independent PR, advertising and digital marketing agencies, French/West/Vaughan. The founder of CGPR, Chris Goddard said that she was excited about this new business move. Meanwhile, the agency has been around for over 25 years and has been working with people and brands in the active lifestyle, ski, technology, travel and fashion fields.
Some of the accounts that CGPR has worked on, include the outdoor gear brand Kelty, Adidas Outdoor, the UK lifestyle brand Joules, Applied DNA Sciences and many others. As for French/West/Vaughan, this PR agency has been working in public relations for over 20 years with various apparel and outdoor lifestyle brands, such as Wrangler, Justin Boots, Arena, Speedo to name just a few.
Edelman Acquires Gina Dinc Corporate Communications
The U.S. public relations and marketing consultancy firm, Edelman, recently expanded its reach in sub-Saharan Africa by acquiring one of the oldest and most respected PR firms in Kenya – Gina Din Corporate Communications.
The Kenyan PR firm has been working for over 20 years, and it has been partnered with Edelman for the last three of them, with a goal to deliver client campaigns to the East African region. With a headquarter in Nairobi, Gina Din Corporate Communications covers Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia, among other countries of the African Union.
Jordan Rittenberry, CEO of Edelman Africa, will be taking over as the head of the office in Kenya, while the founder of Gina Din Corporate Communications, Gina Din-Kariuki will be the advisor for Edelman all across Africa.
Sam Singer Hired By Tartine
The popular San Francisco-based bakery chain Tartine has hired the communications strategist Sam Singer as a response to workers’ requests to unionize. Less than a week after the workers at Tartine expressed their wishes to unionize, the bakery’s owners responded that the issue needed a thorough as well as a thoughtful answer.
At the beginning of February, almost 150 workers from various locations of the bakery chain signed a letter that noted their intention to join the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. The workers asked the owners for a “fair balance of power between the workers and the management.”
Emily Lucosombe Joins Instinctif Partners
Emily Lucosombe, who was the deputy managing director of Golin up until November 2019, has recently joined Instinctif Partners in a newly-created role – Client Services Director. She’s one of the three senior hires to the corporate and capital markets team that’s based in the UK. Emily Lucosombe, along with the other team members, will be supporting the growth strategy that’s being backed by an investor that took a majority stake in September last year – Lloyds Development Capital.
Aside from Emily Lucosombe, Instinctif Partners has also partnered with Noémie de Andia, who will be working across financial services, tech, and consumer clients. Another recent addition to Instinctif Partners was Charlie Bagley, as an associate partner in innovation and digital practice.
