Echo Appoints Kristin Hersant as VP of Marketing

Echo, a web platform that allows companies to submit large volumes of real-time applications for social TV, social music, social sports, social commerce and social finance, has announced new key executives to its management team.  Ron Bouganim, the new vice president of corporate development and partnerships, and Kristin Hersant, who will fill the role of new vice president of marketing, bring more than 30 years combined experience in the marketing field.

Echo has brought on the pair in order to help them fuel the adoption of the paradigm shift that is involves brands losing web traffic to social networks.  “Echo is helping brands stay ahead of the curve by infusing social applications like real-time comments, real-time forums, real-time polling and live blogging into their user experiences. We call this evolution the real-time web. Both Ron and Kristin are uniquely positioned to help us rapidly fuel the adoption of this new paradigm,” said Khris Loux, CEO & Co-Founder of Echo.

Having co-founded or been a member of the senior management of startups including CCI (sold to British Telecom) and Razz, Bouganim is no stranger to entrepreneurship.  With experience in raising over $300 Million in venture capital and vendor financing throughout his career, he is excited to bring his skill set to the Echo platform.  “I look forward to helping Echo drive adoption of the real-time web by significantly expanding our marketplace of Echo platform developers and partnering with best in class channel resellers,” said Bouganim.

Hersant, who also has extensive experience growing companies from start-ups to large providers of interactive marketing solutions, has held key corporate marketing and creative positions at companies like Buzz Magazine, Better Brand Management and Mindjet.  Aiming to continue her keen ability to build brand awareness, she also states “Echo partners with some of the leading brands in this space to help them gain a competitive edge through real-time user experiences. I look forward to helping companies in other verticals learn from their success and put the power of the real-time web to work for their business.”

This announcement comes at a time of explosive growth for the web start-up as they currently serve over 1 billion real-time streams per month for brands including Discovery Channel, ESPN, Showtime and Sports Illustrated.
