There is the Oscars, the Emmys, The Grammy’s – and now, there is The Global Spin Awards to honor and recognize DJ’s. To be held this year, November 18, 2013 at The New York Times Building, the awards ceremony will be attended by a who’s who in the entertainment world, and hosted by SWAY of MTV & Sway in the Mornings, a pivotal part of the MTV News team, Sway has been a staple of the music-news arena for more than a decade.
Entertainment Executive, Shawn Prez, the CEO of Power Moves Inc., and a longtime Senior Vice President of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment is the creator of this event, which has independent voters and numerous categories. Electronic dance music is expected to compete in a much larger way at this years awards. The Global Spin Awards (GSAs) were created to award and honor the world’s most dynamic and talented DJs for their contribution to the culture of music and entertainment: past, present and future. From the influential DJ pioneers and innovators, to the trendsetters and entrepreneurs; elite DJs across the globe will be recognized and honored, among their peers and other industry professionals for their contribution to the entertainment industry and the ever expanding DJ Culture.
“There is a lack of recognition for DJ’s, and that time has come to an end with this award show,” said Mr. Prez.
There are still certain categories open for sponsorship, although the event is invite-only for attendees. More information is available at http://www.globalspinawards.com
