Ketchum Pleon Wins the International Communications PRCA Award
Ketchum Pleon has won the International Communications PRCA Award for its campaign for “The Secret is Out: Positioning KFC as an Employer of Choice.” Ketchum Pleon CEO of the London office David Gallagher was honored as Personality of the Year.
The award for David Gallagher is a bit biased in our view, since the gentleman was a PRCA chairman between 2008 and 2010. It looks like a “scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” type of nomination. As a PRCA chairman, Gallagher worked with the Board and Chief Executive, Francis Ingham, to help rejuvenate the association with a growing membership, better training, more business referrals, an improved awards initiative, and the inclusion of in-house and international members. He also helped introduce a Chairman’s Charity commitment and a new Fellow’s program. So the prize can almost be seen as “payment” for these efforts.
“The PRCA Awards showcase some of the best examples of what the U.K. public relations industry has to offer,” Gallagher said in a statement. “Even being shortlisted for a PRCA Award is a fantastic achievement, and we are immensely proud to accept tonight’s award in recognition of our work with KFC. This honour is a tribute to our strong client partnerships and a testimonial to our colleagues’ hard work and creativity.”
This is Ketchum Pleon London’s second major award in 2010. Earlier this year, Ketchum Pleon London was named one of the U.K.’s 50 Best Places to Work.
