UPDATE: Lady Gaga is no longer supported by UK-Based PR Agency Darling Department as they officially closed their PR division.
Lady Gaga’s new PR support will be handled in the future by the UK agency Darling Department. For those who don’t know, the artist’s press support was previously handled in-house, at Universal’s Polydor Records, by Adrian Read. The brilliant publicist will also be joining Darling as Head of Press. Lady Gaga is not the only artist following the publicist at Darling. The Bees are also joining his new rooster of clients.
Adrian Read has been with Polydor since 2007. During his career with the recording company he “led press and online campaigns for artists including Ian Brown, Weezer, Morrissey, La Roux, White Lies and Duffy. In 2009, he was named Best In-House PR Person at the Record Of The Day Awards, and also picked up Best PR Campaign For A Breakthrough Non-UK act for his work with the aforementioned Gaga.” – CMU reports. Read has worked with Lady Gaga since her launch in the UK in 2008.
Darling co-founder Dan Stevens told CMU: “As Darling continues to diversify into artist management and music consultancy, it is more important than ever that we have someone of Adrian’s ability heading up our core PR business. His achievements over the last few years speak for themselves, as does the fact that artists such as Lady Gaga and The Bees are making the move with him. We’re thrilled to have him joining the team here at Darling.”
