Hope Hicks, PR is in her Blood

Hope Hicks, the 27-year-old campaign press secretary for Donald Trump may seem unlikely for the position. She was already working for the Trump organization when the rising tide pulled her into the world of national politics. But she has strong and deep ties with PR, though nothing previously with politics. When Trump was asked if her lack of experience in politics was an asset, he responded, “No, I don’t think there’s a benefit to that, but she was able to build political experience quickly. She was very natural. She was very natural when it comes to picking it up, and a lot of people can’t pick it up, because it’s so fast-moving.” Hick’s father, Paul was in charge of PR for the NFL – and now works at Glover Park Group in DC.  Both of her grandfathers worked in PR as well. After college, Hicks joined Matthew Hiltzik in his New York PR office where she soon became acquainted with Hiltzik’s client Ivanka Trump – and then Donald Trump, ultimately shifting to a job at Trump Tower and now she’s Trump’s political PR girl Friday. So now Hicks finds herself working on her first political campaign as none other than the press secretary for the frontrunner of the GOP Presidential campaign.

Why the Best Digital Marketing in 2026 Feels Human Again

For the better part of the last decade, digital marketing has been defined by one word: efficiency. Marketers optimized everything. Audiences were segmented into increasingly granular cohorts. Creative was tested, iterated, and refined at scale. Entire strategies were built around performance dashboards—click-through rates, conversion rates, cost per acquisition. It was a golden age of precision. And yet, something got lost along the way. Scroll through any social platform today and you’ll encounter a paradox: marketing has never been more targeted, yet it has never felt more invisible. Ads are technically excellent, but emotionally vacant. Campaigns perform, but they rarely linger. Brands reach people, but they struggle to move them. This is the defining tension of digital marketing in 2026.
