SCOPE OF SERVICES
GENERAL:
The work to be accomplished by the Consultant is in support of the following ARC work
program component:
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES:
ARC envisions an equitable and sustainable region where communities that have been historically and systematically oppressed and excluded are centered and supported as partners and co-creators in the planning process to express and fulfill their ideas and desires through their own social, artistic, and cultural practices.
WORK TASKS:
Task 1: Project Team Meetings
The individuals or organizations will meet monthly with ARC Community Engagement and Culture staff from February-December 2024 to explore and learn together about Culture and Community Design, experiential educational methods, curriculum development, community codesign and planning, cultural community organizing and advocacy, and creative placemaking/place-keeping.
Deliverable: Attendance and participation in monthly meetings
Task 2: Curriculum Co-Design
Work with ARC project manager to develop the tools, lessons, and activities with a socially engaged art-based curriculum designed for Atlanta regional artists, planners, government officials and community-based organization leaders.
Deliverables:
• Co-created lesson plans with ARC project manager for the 2024 Culture and Community Design cohort and participating ARC staff.
• Co-created curriculum handbook with ARC project manager for the 2024 Culture and Community Design cohort and participating ARC staff.
• Attendance in weekly meetings during class sessions for additional facilitation support.
Task 3: Class Evaluation
Work with the ARC project manager and staff to identify and document successful outputs of community engagement by the class participants. Individuals or organizations will provide and share their expertise and knowledge on evaluation metrics in community engagement for participants to use in their own communities.
Deliverables:
• Expert input and knowledge into identification and documentation of successful outputs of community engagement by the class participants
• Prepare and deliver final report of class experience with ideas, strategies, and recommendations around continued community engagement plans by ARC’s Community Development department.
