Oxfam America Launches "Be a Good Kid" Campaign

Oxfam America, a leading International relief organization,  has just announced a program to honor Moms this month encouraging Mother's Day gifts that really do make a difference. Billed as a "Be a good kid", the gifting campaign from Oxfam America Unwrapped presents those in need around the world with such useful presents as kid goats ($45), for an instance for those in need. Oxfam has an online catalog at oxfamgifts.com that shows the range of products for families around the world who need help most. Some 70 products from  between $12 and $5,000 that will improve the lives of mothers and their children near and far.  Givers can help train a midwife ($150) working in rural communities to enable mothers to give their children the best possible start in life;  or buy a dozen chicks ($45) to produce food and income for a family in some impoverished place; or even help restore a preschool ($35) to working order so as to provide a safe learning environment for children. Stephanie Kurzina , vice president for development and communications at Oxfam America, offered this via the organization's press:
"Mother's Day is an opportunity to thank moms in our lives for dedication to their children. What better way to say 'thank-you' than with a unique and meaningful gift that will help other families around the world overcome poverty and injustice."
