The Professional Fighter’s League (PFL) has selected independent PR agency MWWPR as their new agency of record. MWWPR has a digital-led, content-driven mission and will strive to highlight the PFL as a legitimate sports league among current fans as well as media and influencers.
Since launching their Sports & Entertainment practice in February 2018, MWWPR has signed on other major sports clients like The Kentucky Derby. The PFL is the first organization to show MMA in a regular season, primarily live on Thursday nights throughout 2019 and 2020 on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes or ESPN+, culminating in a championship event on New Year’s Eve.

5WPR has announced that it will work for the second year in a row with Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) to help provide clothing, shoes, and other essentials to Vietnam-era veterans. The VVA is the nation’s only congressionally chartered organization dedicated to the needs of the Vietnam veteran community. The VVA partnership is part of 5WPR’s ongoing corporate responsibility efforts. The agency has worked with other charitable organizations like the Ronald McDonald House and Operation Backpack. They match all employee donations.
Kellogg’s Switches from Edelman to Weber Shandwick for ‘Influencer Engagement’
After a competitive review that began in fall 2018, the major food-manufacturer Kellogg’s has selected Weber Shandwick to represent their United States PR. The company stated their goal is to improve “influencer engagement” with consumers through their various brands. Krispr, a conflict shop of PR firm Edelman, has handled Kellogg’s PR since 2012 when they won the account after Weber Shandwick was forced to resign due to client conflicts.
Bluegreen Vacations Selects FINN Partners for Travel and Lifestyle PR
Bluegreen Vacations, a leading vacation ownership and luxury resort management company, has selected FINN partners to represent their PR. Citing FINN’s extensive experience with travel and outdoor lifestyle as major considerations, Bluegreen hopes the firm’s “authentic approach” will be an excellent fit for the company. FINN partners is one of the rapidly growing independent PR firms, having more than quadrupled in size since being founded in 2011. The Bluegreen account is led by FINN’s New York office, which handles other tourist clients like I Love NY and Jamaica Tourist Board.
Bayer Creates Three-Agency PR Team Following Controversial Monsanto Merger
German multinational pharmaceutical company Bayer has created what it refers to as a Partners in Innovation team to handle its global public relations in the wake of of their acquisition of agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology company Monsanto. The three agencies, Porter Novelli, FleishmanHillard, and Global Prairie, all have former ties to either Bayer or Monsanto prior to the companies merging.
Bayer pushed their acquisition of Monsanto as an innovative step that would be beneficial to farmers. However, the deal drew criticism from many farmers and has been the subject of a lengthy antitrust review, which ultimately resulted in Bayer selling off $9 billion in agricultural assets. With Monsanto recently forced to pay damages to a California man whose cancer was linked to one of their products, Bayer’s stocks have taken a dip. Bayer has also enlisted Paradowski Creative to help with their digital content and marketing.
